Dr. Vance Nichols has served in both public and private schools for over 40 years. ALCS' head of school since 2015, Vance has led the school's transformation into a faith-based STEM school. Vance serves as chair of the Association of Christian Schools International Western Division Accreditation Commission and is a commissioner on the ACSI Commission on Accreditation, which sets the academic and organizational standards for schools in the US and abroad. An adjunct professor in the Organizational Leadership and MBA programs at Los Angeles Pacific University, Vance earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at the USC Rossier School of Education, with a concentration in K-12 Leadership in Urban School Settings. As a USC Innovation Scholar, he was one of 68 selected scholars from USC, Harvard, Stanford, Arizona State and the University of Pennsylvania for pushing education innovation to scale. He and his wife, Carol, have four grown children and six grandchildren.
